Thrifty Finds: My First Haul Post

Ok so Im not brave enough to do a video haul...too much pressure :) Instead I decided to photograph some of the things I purchased on my last run. The first three items were actually gifted :) Hope you enjoy!

Cole Haan Loafers:Thrifted & Gifted
Old Navy Boots: Gifted (Thanks Nina)

Old Navy Sweater: Gifted (Thanks Again Nina)
 Polka Dot Top: Thrifted  $1.48

Liz Claiborne Silk Shirt: Thrifted $1.24

 Butter Cream Blazer: Thrifted $1.75

 Dress: Thrifted $2.24

(Purchased at another thrift store for $1 :)

The day I purchased these items was a yellow tag day. All items with a yellow tag were an additional 50% off at the register. Because of the cheap bones in my body, I look for all the markdown tags first.  I was able to buy everything posted here(except for the last skirt) for under $10.00.

Just wanted to give you a glimpse of how much I pay for my clothing. You'll be seeing these soon. If I dont wear my new finds I forget about/lose them :)

Style: Rubix Cube (TTO)

 Dress & Shoes: Thrifted

Doesnt this dress remind you of a rubix cube? I really love this dress. Loud pattern and all.

It was a bit longer when I bought it but with some scissors and a sewing machine I was able to bring it up a few inches and make it a bit more youthful :)

Happy Monday/ MLK Day!

Style: About A Coat

Nevermind the outfit....Its all about the Coat!
Coat, Shirt, Jeans and Earrings: Thrifted
Booties: Target
I saw the jacket. I swooned. I snatched it up and tried it on. I LOVED IT. I took it to the register. I was eyeballed by the cashier *up and down went her eyeballs*
Cashier: $25
Me: For Faux Fur???????????
Cashier: Do you want it or not?

I smiled politely at the Salvation Army Cashier, hung up the coat and left....SADLY :(

2 Days later a good friend of mine went to the same store. She saw a jacket and thought I would love it. She texts me and says come over because she got a great jacket for me. Present????? Im there.

I enter her house. There lying on the bed is the EXACT same jacket that I wanted so badly. She had a different cashier than I did and purchased the $25 jacket for $7!
Thank you Nat! You made my winter :)

Style: Skinnies, Silk and Sensible Shoes (TTO)

Cape, Top, Jeans (Similar) and Shoes: Thrifted

The title explains my outfit. These 3 things were not on my "to-wear" list in 2011. While skinny jeans are cute on most people, I was not willing to actually try them on. Theres something about trying on something called skinny when youre, well, NOT. But I came across this pair earlier this week for $3 and the discount loving girl in me MADE me try them on. Success!

As for the silk, theres something about having a large chest that tells me to avoid the oversized silk shirt trend. But after trying on the jeans and having such success, I figured I should at least try the only silk shirt in my closet with it. Double Success.

Finally the granny heels. Im a High/Low girl when it comes to shoes. Skyscraping or flat on the ground is what I like. Well, these shoes caught my eye and I tried it...Triple Success!!!!!!

The moral of the story: Dont Knock it or Put yourself Down til you TRY IT!

What Trends Have you Shunned Based on Your Body Type?(without trying first)
