How To: Tie a Scarf (Rosie the Riveter Style)

Alrighty Hannah from Tattoos and Pearls. You asked for it so here it is :)  This is my first one so please cut me a little slack.

My Rosie the Riveter Tutorial

You will need:
A Scarf (Any size really. Just remember the larger the scarf, the larger the top knot)

Take your square scarf and fold it into a triangle.

Take the folded side and lay it on the nape of your neck.

At this point, all 3 corners of your triangle should be pointing toward your face. The center triangle will line up with your nose.
Cross left corner over right, while leaving the center corner lying on your face.

Tie a basic tie as if youre learning how to tie your shoes.

Tug until its as secure as you want it.

Now take the center corner and tuck it back underneath the tie you just created.

Once the center point is secure, pick the left and right corners up and tie again.
 And again...
 And again...
and again until youve almost run out of scarf to tie.
Now take the end of the tied portion of the scarf and tuck it back until it is secure.
Adjust and make sure the scarf is smoothed down to your liking.

Tuck any hair that may have escaped back under the the scarf and also adjust your ears.
Hope this was helpful. Let me know if I need to elaborate any further.

Happy Thursday!

  3. That was cool! I JUST put up a print of Rosie in my laundry room because it's the room I hate most (it's cramped, poorly laid out, and smells like cat litter because that's where we keep the litterbox...) so Rosie's in there encouraging me!

  4. Great tutorial- seriously- easy to understand! I struggle to find square scarves!!! But I love protecting my expensively dyed hair from the sun, so you just showed me how to make sure all my hair is protected!
