Face It: My Skin

This is my face (surprise)!  As Ive mentioned before, theres nothing to my "get pretty" process. For the last 10 years or so  I keep promising myself that Im going to learn to apply makeup and have a go-to face. Even with the assistance of  youtube I realize the makeup thing is probably just something i'll never quite get. That being said, today Im exposing my crazy, insane and downright shamefully uncomplicated Beauty Regimen :)
 The Lineup:
Oil Blend (2 parts castor/1 part olive oil/1 part safflower oil
Apricot Scrub
Petroleum Jelly

Slather 1 pump of oil mixture on face and rub in a circular motion for about 30 seconds.
Take a washcloth and hold it under hot water.
Wring out and lay on face until the warmth is gone.
Wipe oil away.
Thats ALL.

The pic to the left is how my face looks after washing with the oil. Thats the only thing I do morning and night on a daily basis. However, once a week (if I remember) I do a quick exfoliation with cheapo Apricot Scrub.

Now For My Extravagant Makeup Process:

Take Lipstick of my choice and dab on lightly.
Apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly.
Done.
There you have it. The only thing Ive left out is my eyebrow grooming process. Ive been letting the brows grow wild so that I can start this year off with a fuller set. They'll be threaded in the next week or so.

This year I plan to add perhaps a little eyeliner/shadow to the mix. We shall see.

Style: 2013 is Here

Thrifted: Earrings, Sweater, Clutch, Cuff
Target via Dirt Cheap: Pants, Shoes

Around August of last year (weird to say) the workout/fitness bug bit me...HARD. As most of you noticed my posts went from at least twice weekly to maybe once every other week or so. As much as I wanted to blog there was no way I could make gym shorts and sweaty t-shirts interesting to talk about. Honestly workout clothing became my uniform.

With that said:

I cant say that the posts will be more frequent but its my goal to try :) I miss you all!

Happy New Year Everyone!

Style: Thankful

Cardigan, Polka Dot Top, Skirt, Clutch: Thrifted
Shoes: Mossimo (Target)

My life is full of wonderful things. A husband that adores me, two healthy children, great and supportive extended family, a roof over my head, waaayyy too many pairs of shoes.............

I could go on and on about the things that Im thankful for. This past thanksgiving as I sat with my family for dinner the realization that I do not take enough time to count my blessings on a daily basis came to me. There are many people in this world who do not have the same opportunities afforded me yet they are grateful for even the things we consider "small things".

From now on I want to live a life of gratefulness. There should never be a day that I wake up and cannot find something to be thankful for.

What are you thankful for?

Happy Monday After the Long Holiday Break!
(Be thankful for the job youre probably dreading going to this morning lol)

Style: Brrrrr!!!

 Sweater, Scarf, Clutch: Thrifted
Jeans and Tee: Old Navy (via Dirt Cheap)
Boots: Target (here) $10.48 in store

So im thinking fall is finally setting in. Every year around this same time I feel the need to deep clean my home, organize closets and curl up on the sofa with my snuggie.

Suddenly the need to be comfy cozy is of the utmost importance.  It takes me a couple weeks to get into the swing of completely changing my gear though. Saturdays high was 75 degrees and this morning I woke up to frost on my windshield. So confusing!

Have a Positive Tuesday!
ps. Searching for an indoor photo spot...

The only pic of us together

Some couples match on purpose. Hubby and I try to avoid it at all cost. Call us childish but we both feel weird when it happens and people coo.

This past weekend we got the kiddos dressed for church then rushed to prep ourselves. Hubby pulled the car around and I hopped in. We look at each other and crack up laughing....Oh well, no time to change :)
